Who is Justin Bridges?

I am just some random guy who left a job at Goldman Sachs to pursue something different.  I love photography, fashion, and my friends; be they Internet based or actual human beings I’ve met. (For a more in-depth answer, check out my About page.)

What is Tucked?

Tucked is a blog I started with the sole purpose of establishing my voice in fashion.  It is always evolving.  It’s an opportunity to meet others, showcase my talent, and blah blah blah.  It’s literally just me putting my life in full view of people I love and people I’ll never meet.  My focus is fashion, street style, food, and a mash up of all the random, chaotic things that pop into my brain.

Do you have a career or is the blog your hustle?

I have a job.  I am currently an assistant buyer for a luxury retailer.  I am responsible for buying, merchandising, and a slew of other things for the e-commerce arm of my employer.  My specialties are footwear, accessories, and contemporary sportswear.  My second job (although of high priority) is all the opportunities that spawn from my blog/photography.  I work long hours, and my relief is that it’s fun.

I do have a job, just not that one anymore.

Favorite brands and designers….Go!

I hate questions or demands like this.  I plead the fifth.  But if you kidnap my unborn child then fine…I’m a fan of the following and there is absolutely no order of importance (just alphabetical) to this:  3.1 Phillip Lim, Alexander Olch, Alexander Wang, Band of Outsiders, Baron Wells, Bespoken, Burberry Prorsum, Carlos Campos, Club Monaco, Commes des Garcons, David Hart, Dries Van Noten, Dr. Martens, General Idea, J.Crew, Jil Sander, Junya Watanabe, Kenzo, Kris Van Assche, Levi’s, Maison Kitsune, Maison Martin Margiela, Michael Bastian, N.Hoolywood, Neil Barrett, Ovadia & Sons, Raf Simons, rag & bone, Richard Chai, Rick Owens, Riviera Club, Robert Geller, Shipley & Halmos, Simon Spurr, Steven Alan, Thom Browne, Woolrich Woolen Mills, Yohji Yamamoto, and Zanerobe.  I’ll make sure to add to this list later, but for now, that took a lot of energy!

What blogs do you read and why?

Ok this is going to be a growing list as well…but I guess the more the merrier!

The GQ Eye – I’m a fan of Sean Hotchkiss and Matt Sebra, and it’s an easy way to just keep up to date on menswear.

Justin Chung’s Tumblr – By far one of my favorite photographers, a friend, and just all-around good guy.

How to Talk to Girls at Parties – Hip hop slang, pictures of jawnz you want to cop and filtering every crevice of the Internet to find the funny, Lawrence holds the menswear tumblr crown.

Nice try, bro. – Caution, if you don’t want to laugh uncontrollably at work, DO NOT CLICK.

Staying Up All Night – This is the result of Sean Hotchkiss buying a camera for all the things he doesn’t get paid for.

Terry Richardson’s Diary – I don’t know how I feel about him, but it’s look reality tv…just can’t turn it off.

The Sartorialist & Garance Dore – An unstoppable fashion force. Duh!

Jak & Jil – Tommy Ton is the man. He’s a sweet guy and has an amazing eye.

Streetfsn – Nam takes some of the most vivid and interesting shots ever.

N’East Style – I’m a fan of her illustrations, and you will be too!

Free / Man – Always finding dope heritage merch I’m in short supply of.

Jake Davis – Filmmaker. I can’t get enough of the Test Shots.

Street Etiquette - A truly eclectic and modernized historical approach to style.

Unis New York Tumblr – Never even been in the store, but I’m a fan of the brand. Not to mention, I have a crush on the designer. These are my confessions.

Dapper Lou – He’s one of the genuine men of fashion.  Quiet, silent but deadly type.  Excellent sense of style with vibrant expression.

Stockholm Street Style – Huge pictures of the chic and the stylish.

Fashion Toast – She posts personal style pics, but I’m really into the photos of the places and things.

Girl Sack – Lost of pictures of a girl in menswear with her head cut out of the shot. Lol…but mainly, I just love girls in menswear.

Altamira, Models Off Duty – Duh! It’s a weakness for me.

An Unknown Quantity – This guy does a great job focusing street style on the other side of menswear.

Le 21eme Arrondissement – Another street style blogger who isn’t afraid of a little bokeh.

You Have Broken the Internet – I’m trying to figure out how to fix the Internet.

I know I’m missing people, but I’m out of breath and my fingers are cramping.  I’ll add more later.

What excites you about menswear?

I love how the systematic fear about men’s fashion is draining from the system.  Never before could a man care so much with little to no ridicule. I love that women are holding men to a better standard, especially their shoe game and their fit game.  It’s about time ladies.  It’s an exciting space to play in.  Although it’s a far off, I can’t wait until men start putting as much dollars into fashion as women…actually that may never happen.  But it’s still an encouraging landscape out there.

Where are we bound to find you on any weekend?

This is a tough one. Blind Barber? I traffic human beings in and out of Westway as well.  Hmmm, I go to a saki bar but I will keep that one to myself.  You can also see me stalking beautiful people with my camera outside of the Smile and many other dark shadows on the Soho/West Village streets.

Do you have time for more questions?

Yes, but for now, I’m not answering anymore.  If anyone is curious, they can just hit me up.  I’m probably the most accessible blogger on the Internet.
