I clearly post on my own timeline since Project Show NYC was like…say…a month ago. Although, it’s never to late to post awesome clothes. I saw a ton of brands and met a ton of people, it was a good ‘ole exhausting time. Here’s what I saw and liked…key word “liked.”
Welcome Stranger – You know that addiction I have to workwear, well….Welcome Stranger makes my dreams come true in a multitude of ways. I really enjoyed that they were making handmade bowties at their station, and they had tons of cool shirts in chambray with dots and printed patterns that I know I could really rock out. I’m going to need to work with them in the future. Check out their lookbook: F/W 2011.
In God We Trust NYC – I don’t need to say much here because I give them mad praise. Shana was at the booth rocking out the customized metal works. I love what she does.
Nudie Jeans Co – Denim is denim, but denim with a story is a blessing in disguise. You’re always going to have some regular jeans in your closet or dresser, but it’s awesome when you can blend in some denim that fuses your organic side into the clothe. Nudie Jeans is showing us the way to environmentally friendly apparel.
I wish I could find a business card or remember the name of the shop running this booth. Needless to say, leather goods, handmade with care and love are amazing. They age with grace and I just love seeing how the construction comes together. Superb!
Bowery Lane Bicycles – One statment: Bikes are cool. Second statment: Not sure why I don’t have one, but they make it look easy. Handmade bikes for your consumption, that’s the way you need to ride.
Leather Head Sports – I’m not big into sports, but if they start making more cool product like this for me to enjoy in my spare time…I may get off the bench and start knocking some heads around on the field.
B.T.N.S. – There were some patterns I could do without and a lot of patterns I couldn’t walk away from. Always a fan of a good shirt that separates me from the crowd. They have some talent to work with.
Airedale – I became a huge fan of the magic being made by Airedale. It isn’t the brand was ground breaking or anything. I was impressed by the attention to detail and love put into each piece. They have taken their time to find great fabric, and then stitched them together putting great thought into each detail and edge. Airedale you have a new supporter, let’s talk.
Richer Poorer – Cool socks. I wish they would do more saturated colors, but they feel great!
Brooklyn Circus – These guys are a movement and a testament. It took me awhile to find out about what they were brewing but now I’m on to it. Brooklyn Circus harnesses the power of heritage and storied timelines to bring together a curated collection of their own design and the loving touches of what was. Best of luck, they’re already off to a hell of a start.
Rogue – I just loved this shirt. The end.
Fjallraven – Functional and technical in a big way. This is one of those brands you can trust for your winter warmth. Some really good pieces that will allow you to look fashionable while avoiding frostbite. The backpacks are pretty fun too; I could fit like two human bodies in one. Weird analogy?
AMBSN – An insanely down to earth vibe is at the heart of this line. Wacky prints on swim trunks, I mean that’s what their made for. Just a chill aesthetic that doesn’t take too much thinking.
Onassis – If you didn’t know or care about Onassis in fall, you may start to care in spring. I think this is their definition of assertiveness, and I don’t mind it. Can’t wait to see how these pieces translate in-store. Take notes.
CXXVI – All I want to say is, in a Valley Girl voice, “OMG I love these ties!” I just picked up on this brand, and I’m already digging what I’m seeing. Bring on the noise…and umm what number is that in Roman numerals again? I’m a bit rusty.
SLVDR – Some cool gear here, but I fell in love with the jacket. Love the way the fabric plays a texture game with your eyes. Nothing cooler than a color blocked breaker of the wind.
Retro SuperFuture – They wouldn’t let me take pictures of all the cool stuff, so I hope these photos are okay…because they are going live right now! I make no secret about how I love Retro Supers. I talk about them to everyone and I just think when it comes to modern sunnies, you can’t go wrong with 90% of their frames. That is an insane batting average.
